Empowering women in multiple fields is an important step in creating more equality between the two genders when it comes to technology and business. Particularly in entertainment, entrepreneurship, and finance, women in powerful positions can be few and far between. This is where WEMP comes in. The founder Christine Curran, spent many years of her life dedicated to ensuring that women were elevated and well represented in the workplace.
“As an entertainment guru, I’ve always created projects and businesses around Women Empowerment. In the last 15 years I’ve booked over 800 models for print, runway and event staffing. I spearheaded and hosted a televised model search with 50 women competing to win a one year modeling contract. I’m the founder and host of a TV Show called Dining Divas that showcases 6 independent women who dine and drink with Celebrities. Prior to Covid-19, my partner and I were building an Oscar-style Award Show called the “Influential Model Awards” that features over 60+ top female influencers from around the globe with collectively over 100M followers in 24 diverse categories.” -Christine Curran.
However, the current pandemic gave Christine the opportunity to explore new avenues for female empowerment. In particular, she began looking into the crypto space.
“With Covid-19 putting a halt on our award show we jumped into the crypto space and that is where the vision for WEMP Token was founded. Realizing the opportunity to have a global currency for our global event, we created the WEMP Token which stands for Women Empowerment. WEMP’s mission is to create mass adoption of cryptocurrency, by bringing more women into the crypto space. We provide educational resources, fund women entrepreneurs and donate to women supported charities. We are a community-driven social cause token. WEMP also has utility as our currency for the global event, the “Influential Model Awards” slated to take place in Sept 2022 at the Hardrock Casino,” according to Curran.
What differentiates WEMP Token and Christine from other businesses like theirs is that they are dedicated to transparency. In Christine’s words, the world of tokens is still “the wild west” meaning that it is still fairly uncharted territory. It is crucial that the company is transparent with so many moving pieces in a continually-evolving industry.
“With WEMP we are extremely transparent. For some projects, you have no idea who the founder is or any background on the team. We chose not to stay anonymous because we want the community to feel the comfort of being able to research our past accomplishments and feel secure in their investments,” Christine states.
WEMP is not just stopping at breaking into the crypto industry! With the new year just starting, they have big plans for 2022, including being a stage presenter at the Wall Street Conference, sponsoring WNBA team LA Sparks, being featured in Entrepreneur Magazine, and much more.
