A Florida judge ordered the state governor, Ron DeSantis, to answer to the Justice for sending nearly fifty Venezuelan migrants from Texas to Massachusetts on flights. In these, according to a lawsuit, “legislative authority was exceeded.”
Héctor Roos, member of the Executive Committee of the Libertarian Party of Florida and candidate for governor of that state, announced on Tuesday through a statement the decision of Judge Lee Marsh on the sending of migrants ordered by the Republican governor.
The migrants, mostly Venezuelans, were in San Antonio, Texas, when DeSantis organized his transfer to Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts.
The statement from the political consultant of the aforementioned party indicates that, after the judicial decision, DeSantis will have to respond to the accusations that the flights he ordered exceeded legislative authority. As a result, he took advantage of his position to create publicity for the benefit of his election campaign
The judicial decision to which Ross alludes is from last October 14th and means that the case before transferring it to the Court of the Second Judicial Circuit in Leon County, “will proceed”, according to him.
Judge Marsh, who gave the order, was appointed in 2018 to practice in the Court of the Second Judicial Circuit, in Leon County, by the then Governor of Florida, Republican Rick Scott.
